Ao lado (By your side)

Ao lado (By your side) - 2006 Since I remember loose images come to me and stay in my memory. The perception of parts in a whole, a distinct reality by themselves, sometimes are what I retain from a visual experience. These small realities within a more global world have, in themselves, their own autonomy and meaning.

Are we human ?

Bancos do Conhecimento

Geometria (Geometry)

ID

ID. - 2009 (Life and Death / Light and Shadow) Some places transmit unique sensations, of a present inseparable of a strong, enduring past. Sensations of what has been, of a reality telling different stories. Facts gone by, joys that were, lived dramas. Walls may tell stories of life and death, physical and psychical. And there is light and shadow. Whats evident and whats just guessed, in an allegory of good and evil, of Eros and Tanatos. All in all inseparable, two versions of a single reality, of dawn and twilight. This series was shot in an abandoned psychiatric ward and tries to express the eagerness for life and death, the search for light and shadow.

Observers

Have you observed the observers ? Take a look ...

Pavilhao 28

Pavilhao 28 - 2010 The "Pavilhao 28" was an abandoned psychiatric ward, where inpatients were secured. The photos in this series were shot after the exhibition "ID" took place in these premises. Can you see the overwhelming decay ?

Portas da Mente (Doors of the Mind)

Doors of the Mind. - 2008 Doors, in a sense better than mirrors. The start of a path, the way to the other side. Where past and future touch, where what was is no longer, starting point of what is to come. Half open they allow to glimpse a new dream, they allow a choice between different futures. Do you dare to cross ?

Shadows

Shadows Do you wonder what makes good photography ? Most people would say adequate light, but look at the shadows ... . I wouldn't approach the subject by praising them, but do they touch you ?
